It’s a reaction Quincy Minor hears a lot when people find out more about the rapidly growing tech company where he works. “They say, ‘An IT company in Wetumpka, Alabama, is doing that well?’” Minor laughed.

Yes, they are. And now the company’s 91 employees have even more reason to feel good about it. Wetumpka-based Information Transport Solutions is now entirely employee-owned.

Tomi Selby sold her remaining stock to the Employee Stock Ownership Plan Trust earlier this month, ITS said. Selby founded the family-owned company in 1998, and in the years since then it has grown to become a leading provider of broadband and network services to education, government and businesses across the Southeast. In fact ITS had record revenue in 2016, said Minor, the company’s president and chief operating officer.
