The Progress Through Business affiliated UW Credit Union VITA program results are in for 2013 and they demonstrate the actual value of the VITA program with $875,730 in tax refunds to 537 tax filers. That is almost a ten percent increase in the number of returns and over 2.5% more in refund dollars compared to last year.
The Wausau, Wisconsin office of AmeriCorps*VISTA and Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service reported 158 clients and $155,842 in refunds. This is another site that was established with Progress Through Business assistance.
These two programs alone served 695 clients and refunded $1,031,572 into their respective regions.
