The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) successfully tested and launched recently in Tarlac City a multi-voltage system solar power generator developed by the Tarlac State University (TSU) which can generate enough power to run airconditioners, lights, refrigerators, television sets and electric fans simultaneously and at a lower cost.
In a bulletin post, the DOST said the multi-voltage system solar power generator program was funded by DOST-Region III under its Grants-in-Aid (GIA) program and was spearheaded by Rodel Botio, professor at the research and extension office of Tarlac State University.
It was launched in Barangay Ungot, Tarlac City.
Botio revealed that the multi-voltage system solar power generator can provide alternating current (AC) of 220 volts (V) and direct current (DC) of 12V and has a rated power capacity of 8KW (8000W).
