This is not a decision about pursuing the development of either conventional or renewable resources — it’s a matter of responsibly developing both. Let’s get on with it.
Countries around the world are forging paths to achieve their Paris Agreement commitments based on their unique resource and sector profiles. In the Canadian context, the pathway to achieving a 30 per cent reduction in GHGs below 2005 levels by 2030 is through cleaning up the way we extract and deliver fossil fuels while developing our abundance of renewable energy resources.
